This is a workshop for anyone who has had good experiences in the water, also natural waters and who is interested to explore further, starting from there. It is a workshop about a holistc way to swim, one that is not defined by technique or style and more than open for full immersion and free dives. If you have swam down a few meters before, without feeling discomfort or pressure in your ears, maybe even equalized this pressure consciously, you are well prepared. In case you are interested but not clear on the this requirement, please get in touch.
What We Will Do:
Along with the exploration of the underwaterworld comes a shift in attitude while being in the water. We will together make an effort to notice this shift and follow it deeper, as It can reveal everthing you need to know, to learn to move utterly free in and under water.
Once introduced we can start to work even more clearly, through reestablishing the use of our senses: the way we use our eyes, how we feel our body and movements andcreate judgment from there, how we equalize our ears, how orientation is all different in an environment that creates "surroundedness" and how movement and expectations are linked and create each other.
All this and more becomes the very basis of our possibilities in and under water. And we will grow a practical understanding of how this basis is not ones swimming techniques, but a holistic integrationof intent, observing consciousness, movement and perception.
How very practical this basis is, will become clear through the use of specific exercises that are directly related to functions of feeling and movement in the water.
Bit by bit we will learn to move and feel more gentle, graceful and free and like this follow the example of seals and turtles who like us find their "ways" in the water without gills and fishfins..
Since growing up Andreas had a longing for finding out how it would be to swim in a clear sea, with a "real" diving mask. This led Andreas to find out in 2002 in Croatia that being under water was more challenging than he thought. But the intrigue stayed and 2006 Andreas found that being under and moving inside was much easier, and even more promising than envisioned.
The promise of this other way to swim to reveal and show important aspects of life was kept eversince and led Andreas to explore his idea of Freediving – to swim freely in natural, beautiful, clear, sometimes deep waters, for years to come, mostly in Dahab and Elba Island.
