Play-Fight Prague
Workshop by Formless Arts

13 - 14 April 2019
As part of the Facilitator Program, Formless Arts opens the door to a Play-Fight workshop co-facilitated by Moritz and Ester. An opportunity to dive into the practice through the personal understanding and elaboration of two dedicated students and collaborators in the Team.

About the workshop:
The class will weave a journey through different exercises, eventually flowing into the free play. Focusing on reawakening awareness upon stored unnecessary tensions and dysfunctional patterns of reactions, we will gradually move beyond the field of mere physicality to embrace all aspects of the being. Only when able to recognize how much tension we accumulate in our system, by releasing, we can transform the tension into real power.
"Stop doing" allows the body to re-function organically and efficiently, while the mind starts interfering less and less at each step we take. In the exact moment we stop holding onto something, we also expose ourselves, naked and only humbly dressed with our weaknesses. Here, vulnerability opens up the space for connection and connection becomes the channel for a more honest communication. Through the other, with the other, we can flow, embrace the challenge, breathe playfulness, discover further about who we are not; eventually embodying a state of non-resistance, towards ourselves first.

- falling as a state of being
- gravity practice
- non-resistance quality
- preserving structural integrity
- doing without doing
- connection, with or without the physical contact
- work with and through fears
- confrontation & collaboration
- play as inherent fundamental quality

Moritz Lembert - Born in Vienna, he is currently training and working as performer and professional Dancer, after having gathered experience in many different styles of dance such as: Breakdance, Urban styles, ballet, acrobatics and contemporary dance. His interest in the body, mind and the world of movement, led him to explore other fields and practices like shiatsu, climbing and bodywork. He came across Bruno Caverna and his work in the year 2013. Since then it became an underlying practice that is greatly influencing his approach to the world of movement and his way of living. Moritz keeps following consistently Formless Arts workshops and events, exploring and studying, seeing the connectedness and possible implementations of the work. Together with Cornelia, he facilitates the Play-Fight study group in Vienna and he is part of the Formless Arts Team.

Ester Braga - Her background of experiences and interests mainly interconnects intensive trainings in contemporary dance and floorwork, contact improvisation, instant composition, with her later studies into yoga, postural and somatic practices. The first encounter with Bruno Caverna happened in 2014, first through Liquid Body, later through Play-Fight. These practices gave her the ground for integrating even more all the movement experiences had until that moment and gradually acquiring important tools for the application of what happens during the training into everyday life. Ester currently works in the Formless Arts Team and together with Miriam carries on a Play-Fight practice group in Bologna, while following consistently workshops and events, aware of navigating through a life-long journey of challenging, yet revealing body-mind explorations and uplifting interactions.
